What does it mean to REPENT?

Repentance is deep sorrow and remorse for one's action(s) and turning away from and not repeating the same action(s) again. It is turning away from and doing the opposite of what was once done. It is a form of contrition where you are humble and supple towards God. Repenting is an action of fleeing from your sin or evil and doing good or making good instead. Repentance is changing your mind and heart concerning something, no longer maintaining the same view but altering it for the better.  It is changing one's behavior and conduct. To be contrite in heart is a good thing. A loving Israelite a humble man or woman who will have a contrite heart towards God, HIS people and creation. Only the proud haughty and evil see no reason to change.

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

PSALM 51:2

Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

An Israelite or man who loves God should be feeling the urgency and need to change. To purge and purify themselves from the past, from wrong doings, from errors, from sin and transgressing the law. We should never feel like humbling ourselves is too much to do, that it is too hard, so there is no point in making an effort. Our attitude should be "can do" even if we really don't like it or are up for the changing. What do you believe PRAYING is for? In these situations PRAYING is going to help you meditate and dwell on your life and matters at hand. PRAYING will make you listen to God and HIS Holy Spirit. PRAYING will enable you to be contrite and return to God your maker. PRAYING will soften your stance and your heart. A hard heart, a stubborn and self-willed person will not ease up and realize that hey, maybe I should be concerned, maybe I should care more about this, maybe my life is on the line and maybe I don't know what I am doing or supposed to do. Maybe I need to think deeper and change course. Praying will improve your ability to repent.

JAMES 4:10

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up

 ISAIAH 55:6

Seek YAH while HE maybe found, call upon HIM while HE is near.

You might be an Israelite or consider yourself a good enough person, that you passed the requirement of what is acceptable in God's sight. But think again.

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of The Lord.

For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

LUKE 3:8

Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

MATTHEW 9:11-13

And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?

But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

PRAY, turn back to your God with a contrite heart and spirit and do not be high minded, humble yourself recognize that making a mistake is worse if you repeat it.

REPENT, let us that are Israel prepare our hearts and minds continually before the Almighty, preparing for The return of The Great King Yahusha preparing for the kingdom is at hand.

Let us continually PRAY.

And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
ISAIAH 57:15
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land
In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth.
2 PETER 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment.
